Title: Scotland Road Trip May 2012
Post by: b3tarev3 on 12 May 2012, 08:03:45 pm
Managed to find a break in the weather last weekend for our five day trip to Scotland. we hit the M6 in Lancashire up to Gretna, then the A76 over to Castle Leven, a ferry hop to Dunoon and we were soon in Invarary. After a nice pot of tea we continued on to Fort  William to pick up food, fire lighters and a wee dram.

Our bed for the night was a sheltered spot on a beach in Morar (fecking feezing it was! :'( )

Day two and we got the ferry from Mallaig over to Skye. First stop was Portree for some breakfast before heading off for the first point of interest of the day, 'the old man of Storr'.  Breathtaking vistas!!

Next up was a ride to the Quiraing- again the views were simply stunning.

A ride back down to Sconser later that day where we picked up the ferry to Raasay were we stayed with friends for the next two days before the killer eight hour ride home on the Tuesday :'(

All in all a fanatastic long weekend in the highlands, we were blessed with the weather and the Scottish roads were as always a joy to ride!
