Title: Reg Rec Wiring
Post by: Slippy on 29 September 2022, 04:28:22 pm
Hello!

The reg/rec on my fzs 600 2003 has melted the connectors! It also has been rewired so a standard oem rec/reg wont fit any more.

Few questions!

Thanks all!

1) No
2) Yes, but good, clean soldered joints, well insulated from each other.
3) If you are buying a new RR, I believe that you can unclip the spades from the connector plug and purchase a replacement male and female connector for both ends. I have used this company before https://www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk/ (https://www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk/)

45a Anderson Power Poles are the best solution and is what I used back in 2017. Neat finish and can be disconnected easier than the original was before burning out

How often do you need to disconnect it?

Thanks for the replies!

I’m just going to hard wire it, been advised by a mechanic friend that crimping it would be the best solution so will do that.

Can’t be bothered with adding new connections to faffy and could melt again!

Thanks all

You would only need to have to do it once
