for 6 weeks,i have to go in for an operation on my wrist for carpel tunnel on tuesday and it takes around 6 weeks to recover, then i may have to get the other wrist done :'(
-
Bad luck hope it all goes well.
You could clean your bike with your other hand for 6 weeks :D
-
at this rate with our weather , you probably wont miss any of the good weather ! ;)
best wishes with the op...as a rider with one dodgy wrist held together by screws...I know how troublesome any wrist injury can be. I went through months with numbness in my thumb, later rectified by my wrist reconstruction. Our surgeons are fantastic, and with a bit of help from him above, alls back working successfully,.....

Had both mine done years ago. watched the surgeon do the first one :eek Takes about 20 mins and the worst part is where the blood is trying to get back down your arm because of the tornique they put on your shoulder. A lot of people told me it was a waste of time as the op didn`t work, it did for me, felt like I had two new hands after they healed completely. Off work for 6 weeks after each op

i have t ring into work once a week and they will arrange physio,we have our own physio department which is usefull, not looking forward to it though,it is being done 3pm on tuesday

Well I have had my wrist done, the anesetic is just starting to wear off,no I did not watch it being done, the surgeon hit the nerve a couple of times,so my poor bike will be having its rest,a bit annoying as the sun has come out and it is warm and dry
-
mend well fella. it might even be summer by the time you're back in the saddle.
-
Glad it went well!

I am bored and fed up as I cannot do a lot,I cannot drive either, and one of the exercises I cannot do,I have to touch my thumb with my fingers one at a time,I can only touch two of my fingers as it hurts and the bandage stops me bending my thumb
-
I'm really fed up as there are a couple of dry days this weekend and I cannot go out for a ride,at the moment I cannot lift a knife in my right hand let alone hold onto the handlebars of my bike
-
stick with it, as someone who has really been on and off physio since 2006,I know it does help !
If you take any injury , you naturally want to rest it , not force it to do anything , yet most physio involves working / stretching the affected limb.Yes its painful but without it you may not heal properly, and possibly not get the full use of the limb afterwards..
Frustrating , but time does pass.Keep a positive mental attitude and do all the things the physio requests.I was in plaster for 12 weeks with a broken arm and leg, with which it is fecking awkward to do anything , but with resolve and determination I could do some tasks, look after myself to some degree, gave me self esteem and resolve, and I do believe it speeded up my recovery...
Best wishes for your speedy recovery. :)

Started my bike up for the first time in over a week and it started first time,it is even more depressing in that we have 2 nice days and I cannot ride it,I still cannot drive my car because I cannot hold the steering wheel.thankfully the stitches come out on Wednesday ,I can't wait till the time I can ride the bike again.
