Title: ECU Re-flash UK
Post by: Wallace on 13 September 2022, 07:32:18 pm

Been reading about ECU re-flashing but mostly over the water.

Is there a UK version of Ivan? He seems to be the font of knowledge in the States?

I can't speak for any UK tuners offering re-flash for the FZ-1 but I know there's some around.

There's a European agent for Ivan's re-flash but it seems they're based in Greece.

Thanks for the link, I'll have a look.
Might look into doing it myself with a spare ECU.

After over 10 years of ownership, I got mine done a couple of weeks ago (2009 model). I visited Wizperformance (https://www.wizperformance.co.uk/product-page/2006-2014-yamaha-fz1-ecu-flash) in person, as I was in the area and he did it whilst I waited. The new map is great! (though I should've probably turned off AIS, cos now it coughs, bangs and backfires even more - childish, I know!). I should have done it years ago, it's transformed the bike.
The guy (Grant, I think his name was) is very helpful and from a brief conversation, definitely knows his stuff. Recommended.

Fantastic, thanks for this.

It's exactly what I was looking for and not too far away from me.

Got my ECU re-flashed by Grant at Wizperformance. Really nice lad and knows his stuff.

£150 and he'll put it back to standard free if you're not happy. It's smoothed out the power when coming back on the throttle so more than happy.

Mine is also much smoother with the fuel cut eliminated, but it's been decatted/can, and fuelling mid-top end seems a lot better too

Full Black Widow system on mine, I got the AIS turned off so much less noise on overrun.

I think it's improved the consumption but haven't done enough miles yet to tell. Still very pleased overall.

On another note I checked my rotor, it's the old type and my bike's a 2014 plate. New one going in tomorrow.
