Title: Fazer 1000, Holding revs when closing throttle?
Post by: bluerob on 14 March 2022, 01:45:00 pm
Hi Guy's,

Currently have a FZS1000 - Fazer 1000. When riding when you close the throttle the bike carries on, then the revs come back down slowly.

I've been through the following, new plugs, HT caps all tight on leads, carbs stripped, cleaned and balanced, air/fuel set at 3 turns out. As far as I'm aware the carbs are standard just with a aftermarket end can. New air filter, new fuel filter. EXUP valve removed and serviced and set up correctly.

I can't find any air leaks anywhere. Everything is tightened up.

The bike also when you start it revs upto about 3-4 but comes straight back to idle, this is starting it without any throttle or choke.

Also AIS is blanked off. Fresh coolant, new oil & filter too.

I'm at a bit of a loss as to why it's holding the revs I can't seem to find a reason why it's doing this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have to ask (just to eliminate it), you have checked the throttle cables and mechanism work smoothly, so nothing is jamming?

Yup, throttle cables are free and returning as they should be. The mechanism on the carbs is working as it should.

Did you put this question up on Facebook also?  I replied to a  similar one on it.
