Title: FZS600 fork issue

hi all just fitting a new speedo drive to my bike its a 1999 fzs600 if it makes a differance, and there are no thread in nearside fork leg, so axle is just being held by pinch bolt, this cant be correct can it? just passed mot like this too! :'(

Nope, the main axle/bolt should be threaded on one end, done up to 67Nm, the pinch bolt is a locking method.  The MOT would just look for loose or obviously worn bolts/nuts, as loong the there was no play and the axle was fully seated it would pass an MOT.

You either get the lower leg rethreaded or replace it.
