Title: Foccer Font of Knowledge- IOM TT
Post by: Dudeofrude on 06 July 2021, 09:45:41 pm
So it's been an ambition of mine for a few years now to ride over to the IOM for the TT and now that I have a suitable bike I'm looking at what I need to be doing. The brother in law wants to come with and we would more than likely stay a couple of nights but I know nothing about where to start.
I'm aware that everything gets booked up fast so we are realistically looking at either 2023 or 2024.

So I'd just like some pointers from any fellow foccas that have attended in the past (or plan too in the future) as to the best way to go about it...travel, accommodation, rough costs etc etc
Cheers 🍻

Me and the brother in law did it in 2019, we rode down to Liverpool for the ferry. £395 return each for the rider and the bike, on the Island we booked a Bell tent on the football pitch at Castletown, I'm sure it was £50 per night each for the tent and bedding and a towel, they did quite cheap breakfasts and evening meals and opened the bar for drinks in the evening. There was showers and toilets to use on site. It was a 10 mile trek up to Douglas for the racing but we were later in booking so it worked for us. Hope that helps a wee bit.

I last went in 1997 with 2 pals. It was cheaper for us to hire a van to carry the 3 bikes in, than book the bikes individually. If you've got access to a van, even better.

Always stayed at Glenlough campsite. Don’t get ripped off buying fan zone tickets, waste of money.
