Can anyone help - what's the difference between an FZ1S and an FZ1SA? I assume the latter has ABS?
If that is correct, can anyone advise? I want to change Rotor Assembly for the stator - apparently the magnets can come loose from the stock version and wreck your engine. Every assembly housing I can find is for the FZ1SA - will that fit my FZ1S?
Please only answer if you know the answer rather than having a guess - cheers buds.

What year is the bike?

Hi Jrebera,
More than a guess but still worth you making a call/further enquiry but I can say that the FZ1SA vs the FZ1S difference is the ABS....I can't 100% say that it's the only difference but I've always thought it was (I have a 2007 FZ1 SA).

I too am looking at a replacement stator for the same reason you've highlighted....preventative cure and the link above is a company who makes a replacement part (non-OEM). The models it supports just specify FZ1 & Year and doesn't mention the S/SA variants so I assume that the parts are the same. Might be worth calling them to check though.
Thanks
Mike

Mine is an SA (ABS is the only difference as far as I'm concerned) and it clearly says 5VY on the side of the engine - as it's an engine part, you could just check for that?

As previously stated the ABS is the main difference between the S and the SA.
There are a few other small differences especially the location of Rectfier/Regulator, but the problematic rotors are the same across all FZ1 models.
They changed the stator also around the same time, but that may have been to match the different rotor.
