Title: Neutral and oil pressure lights inop

Hello Guys.
I have a 98-99 Fazer. I just recently noticed the neutral light and the oil pressure warning light does not come on. The indicator lights and the high beam light are working fine. I have checked the fuse box and they are ok. On the manual it states another fuse (nº8 Parking/hazard lights fuse) which I can´t find because the previous owner installed an alarm, and it´s quite confusing for me the wiring. Could this fuse be the culprit?
Do you have an idea of the issue? Would it be the bulbs itself that are inoperative? How to replace them? Or would it be the wiring?
Any help?

It's an oil level warning light, not pressure.

To test the oil LEVEL light, turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Make sure the kill switch is in the off position and then press the starter button. The oil light should illuminate then. If it doesn't, the bulb has failed normally.

Well, I found out the issue. Tried to find what was happening. Opened the dashboard and the bulbs were ok. It was a green powder/dry paste that was preventing the bulbs to make contact with the circuit board. Gently cleaned it with sand paper and it works. I believe some of us will eventually face this issue of building up that green powder on the circuit board.

The "green powder" is verdigris, and is quite common on old/neglected/exposed to the weather, electrical contacts. Glad it was a simple fix :thumbup

I thought that was the stuff worth £1.000's that dog walkers find on the beach that comes from whales and used in perfume. :lol

Most people call it corrosion - its green because of the copper.

:lol  At least verdigris is green, whereas ambergris certainly isn't amber. It is worth a fortune though, as you say.
