hi my 05 is a bit "notchy " through the gears and clunks when selecting first, never slips out of gear just have to be positive foot movement any ideas????
-
Probably needs the chain adjusting correctly. Check the manual. It would also be a good idea to lubricate the linkages.

thanks but i have done that

The gen 1 is seems sensitive to clutch its cable, I think it's because it goes through 4 angles between lever and housing. Is yours a genuine cable? If so it will need to be adjusted 'just so' for a smooth change and an easy to find neutral. I and others on this forum have tried after market cables and have promptly changed them for genuine.

Make sure your shift lever pivot is clean and lubed too.
My fz8 gets notchy when it's ready for a lube.
