Does anybody know of any tricks to sucessfully bleeding the back brake? i have fitted a new hose and used the traditional bleeding method, i have no air bubbles coming through but its still not near as good as it was!!
-
I use a syringe on the bleed nipple to put suction on the line then keep pumping. If the pedal is soft you've still got air in the caliper.
-
disconnect the soft hose at the reservoir end and get yourself a wider ended syringe. then crack the bleed nipple and apply pressure from the res end this then gets rid of any air that may get trapped in master cylinder
-
letting the fluid stand over night often helps matters, it then bleeds to a firm lever easily the following day.
-
i found that dumb perserverance worked, about two bloody hours of it!
-
can't beat dumb perseverance! :lol
-
ended up wedging the brake pedal down overnight with the lid off, tried it this morning and bang on!
-
Possibly a dumb question but have to check ... you are using both bleed nipples, no?

i bought a mityvac vaccum pump from hein gericke and it worked great, done mates brakes & its now paid for its self.
