Title: Slight chattering noise under load???
Post by: Fazerjon on 30 March 2012, 07:28:51 am
On my 2012 Gen2 FZ1N I'm getting a slight chattering noise when accelerating lightly from around 4000rpm up to around 6000. Its not loud but its making me aware that its there! Its in all gears and I've only just run it in currently sitting on just over 1000 miles. Do they all do this or is it something I need to take up with my dealer?  :eek

Can't answer the "do they all do it" question but you could check your chain tension.

As above + oil it if needed.  :)

Does it have to now go back for a health check with Yam after the run in period? If so, mention it to them and see what they say

Exup valve cables loose? causes chattering when given full throttle at low revs.

I used to get a loud chattering noise when accelerating hard on my Gen 1.
Left the wife at home, problem solved! :thumbup

The noise is coming from the front, sounds like the header pipe area. I've checked the header bolts and chain tension all ok and lubed up. Went out for a fairly hard ride today and didn't really notice it. Strange....... :\
