Hmmm... bit grouchy this morning. So far this month we've had "Where's my flashy thing?", "Why can't I enter this photo even though it's clearly not related to the theme?" and now "Why can't the competition close on the same day each month?" Next month I guess we'll have "Why can't we use xyz voting system?", "Why has the competition closed before I entered my picture?" and "Can I enter this photo even though I clearly didn't take it myself?" *sigh*
So to be more polite, I don't know what I'll be doing at the end of each month so cannot guarantee to close it on the same day. I aim to close it, like this month, 3 or 4 days before the last day so that the poll can finish and a new theme can be chosen for the beginning of the next month. However sometimes I am away from a PC, sometimes I'm too knackered after work and sometimes I plain forget. Some months the poll didn't get started until the 1st or 2nd of the following month.
If you enter your photo by 5 days before the last day you will definitely be on time. But you've generally got over half a month so it shouldn't be a problem. And if you don't get it in on time - well it's only a free competition!

You are the guy that's running it .. it's free, it's fun and (in my opinion) it is a nice little addition to the Biking side of a very good group.
Of course it all has to be done within your commitment range .. otherwise it would not get done for long.

Sorry, I realise you have more to be concerned with than just this and the job you do with the rest of the site is amazing so thanks. This is moot now but I meant a closing date be stated at the beginning of each month's comp, I'll stop digging now.

OK, my suggestion for next month's theme is "Night".
Available light only, i.e no flash photography.
Most cameras these days can take long exposures so hopefully we'll get lots of atmospheric shots of buildings, skyscapes and long streaky traffic trails.
Oh, and Farjo? Can I have a flashy thing under my name please? :D
