Some years ago I fitted some LED Stop/Tail light bulbs to my FJ1200 as it was a PITA to put new bulbs in due to the ABS brain being completely in the way. The idea was that LED bulbs last longer and I'd have less hassle. The LED's were great and didn't blow so they were worth the extra money.
Fast forward a few years and I bought some LED rear bulbs for the Fazer as I had both standard bulbs blow on Sunday.
These one's I have bought are crap. The tail light is far too bright and when the brake is applied it is very difficult to notice any difference - I am suspecting that they've got the connections the wrong way round. Naturally I have complained and requested to return them.
Has anyone bought some LED Stop/Tail bulbs recently that they would recommend?

I got fed up with buying the cheap crap from eBay and the likes, so my latest set are from a company called Classic Car LEDs. They are made for classic cars and work very well in red coloured lenses or clear ones. Granted they are dearer, my last pair of stop/tail bulbs cost £15 but hell you can tell the difference in quality and performance.

I'll have a look.
I'm not too bothered if they are dearer as long as they are good.
It looks to be a good supplier as they say they test all the stuff they sell.
Here's a link to their 12v page for anyone else interested

haven't had a fazer for years so I can't comment on the bulb set up/fitments, I'm on a bandit and was wondering if the rear LED lights are a simple push/twist bayonet fit like lightbulbs at home
and are the front H7 LED headlight fittings the same as a standard H7?
cheers

Are you asking about your Bandit lights?
Fazer ones (Gen 1 model) are standard rear stop/tail bulbs with offset bayonet fitting. The headlamps are H4 Halogen bulbs.
Got some coming in the post and if they are good I'll let you know.
-
unsure on my bandit rear bulbs as never had to check them, had to replace a number plate bulb which I recall as a standard bayonet fit but maybe wrong on that one.
I think the bandit has a H7 headlight bulb
my question related to if the LED bulbs were of the same fitments ie not like some car bulbs that are quite square and flat as opposed to having prongs like H4/H7 or bayonet fittings at the rear

They have all the different fittings to suit whatever you need.
The ones I ordered arrived yesterday. Much easier to install than a standard bulb as they are slightly smaller (fitting rear bulbs in a Fazer is an art). They work really well and exactly what I was after.
So thank you Northern Biker for the recommendation.

Check out Paul Goffs site: http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/ (http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/) if you're looking for led bulbs to replace standard ones.

thanks for the reply ;)

I bought some a little while ago but couldn't fit them as they were a larger diameter than the standard bulbs and don't fit through the hole. I really should have taken the ones off my CBF before I sold that as they were on my original FZS600
-
I had that fear as I've done the same in the past. The ones I've just bought are smaller and easier to fit.
I should have taken the ones or off my FJR before selling it. Live and learn.
