Title: Gear Indicator plug and play.
Post by: ste131 on 27 March 2017, 04:57:14 pm
Hi All,
Has anybody fitted one of these? I had a Datatool one on my 600 and was a pain to set up and quite slow to register and got confused quite a bit!

Found this on Fleebay and would like thoughts please!

Not familiar with the one in your link. I fitted the Healtech GiPro, which is definitely plug'n'play, but a fair bit more expensive.

Cheers Robbo. I don't mind investing for the right bit of kit. Don't want one with the sensors that you have to attached like a door sensor on a house alarm!

Looks a lot like the PZracing gear indicator which is also made in Italy. Don't know what a DLC port is but if its the same as the wiring for the PZR it is true plug & play only £30 cheaper!

I bought the PZ Racing one for my Gen2 and it was simple to set up. It was quite expensive though.

Does it come with the mounting bracket or did you have to make that, sorry I can't access fleabay at work, I have a Datatool one that was fitted to the bike when I bought which is slow and easily confused. I do like having a gear indicator though so something a bit sharper would be nice, let us know how you get on with that one please? :)

Bracket was made. Easy enough though. The gear indicator works very well. Almost instant. Only time it gets confused is if you coast a little with the clutch in and blip the throttle. Understandable though. Very happy with it.

Just plug and play in the front of the speedometer? No soldering? :eek

It comes with wiring to plug into speedo sensor plug which is located behind right side cover where fuel pump is. Also need to connect to grey pickup wire also in same place and I used the rear brake switch positive for the switched live. Very easy job.
