Looking at the American Fz1, site came across a mod to make the mirrors more user friendly. They swop the mirrors over, which lowers them and widens them , giving a much better rear view and less of your elbows. Also they say it cuts down on wind noise.
Has anyone one tried it?

Hi Ricky
Yes I did it and it made a big improvement, im 6ft and 15 st and found the original setting way to narrow and I have never got on with bar end mirrors. Give it a go, you can always put them back.

Do you simply take one off one side and replace it with the other? On the American Fz1 website they where doing all sort of stuff, it was hard to follow, grinding and drilling etc.

I did it a few years ago....Much improvement in my opinion. Won't be going back to original set up.

I did it years ago. Huge improvement to visibility. No noticeable improvement for noise (for me). Ended up putting them back though because I used to do a lot of filtering and it made the bike much wider.

Can anyone explain how its done
cheers

Hi Dusty, what and where did you get your bar end mirrors, mirror blanking plates and bar end weights. In fitting the mirrors has vibration become a problem at the handle bars? ? And has it cut down on wind noise?
