I have noticed one of the header studs has broken away from the engine, Can anyone suggest how this can be put back on, Will it need welding or is there a suitable metal adhesive? Any suggestions ? :(

has it done it like this if so then go for a good Ride get the bike nice and worm and then take the two bolts out the clamp will slide down the pipe then make a v on the clamps then weld it up bolt it back up job done :)

Its not that, where the stud goes into the casing has came away the stud is still attached but has the metal on the casing end.

Has it snapped at the head? If so the topend may need taking out and drilling out as the frames in the way.
mine snapped luckily some of the shaft was left, so my mate welded a nut onto it, obviously its not as strong as the others but does the job

Its the casing that has broken off with the stud attached !

Sounds like a head off and weld up job, need to check the head is still straight after a job like that as it will be prone to warpage, you would need to fettle the area back and build it back up then re-machine it to shape and drill and tap the thread.

It looks a clean break so I was thinking that I could metal glue it back on, it is not blowing from the area.

Metal glue? ull need more than that it has to be high temp

There is a 2 pack metal glue that can withstand 400c, thought it might be worth a shot.

Post up a piccy so we can see whats happened, what with the high temps and pressure from the stud pulling out of the head I would be thinking weld rather than glue.

Try JB Weld, meant to be good stuff.

Just used eco stick epoxy putty, if fails will try the kb weld cheers fizzy. Will let you know how it went. :rolleyes
