Title: Yamaha fazer fz6 2006 - no brake light with front or rear brake
Post by: Ganch on 18 February 2017, 12:34:27 am: Hi all, just recently purchased my fazer fz6. Absolutely love the hike and ride compared to my previous r6!

Initially the rear light was not working all together.

I replaced the bulb and the rear light then began to work but when I pressed the rear and front brake the light didn't brighten. I have the correct bulb and I have checked the wiring to the best of my ability. Also bypassed the front switch but still the light is no brighter.

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP AS I WANT TO BE OUT RIDING

Post by: Fazerider on 18 February 2017, 09:37:17 am: Does the horn work? A quick look at the wiring diagram (manual in the downloads section) shows that it shares a fuse with the brake lights.

and have you put it in correctly-- the pins are offset and it should only be fitted one way?

One pin on the rear light holder will be +12v with the lights on, the other when you put the brakes on.
The outer part of the buld holder should be directly connected ot earth.

If any of the 3 things above are not correct (with no bulbs fitted) then you have a wiring issue. the exception to this is if you don't get 12v on the brake light pin. You could just be unlucky and have two (front and back) failed switches.
