Title: Body position issues!! Pegs etc
Post by: Tubz1983 on 16 October 2016, 09:41:12 am
Ok so for me to be able to shift my weight about/arse off etc I need to be away from the tank, however if I have say a fist distance between my groin and the tank it feels like I'm stretching To reach the bars ?! Is this to do with the pegs?

Yes and I'm very close to finding mordor 👍🏻
compared the GSXRS/ninjas I've owned previously the fazer feels unnatural to be away from the tank to me....

Fit rentals then it's  business as usual. You do need a certain pitch to avoid handlebar and fairing contact but someone more experienced will tell you which pitch you need.  I'm  a heathen and chopped my fairing  down.

The standard bars are pretty swept back as they are. Wont a wider renthal with poss less sweep make it even more of a reach?

Just been out and tried moving my balls a fist width away from the tank ( got a friend to help me measure ) and although it felt very weird sitting like that I could still reach the bars ok.
Coming from one bike to another its going to feel odd to you - no.
I don't ever remember people complaining about the position on here.

Tbh I'm probably just dialed into gixers/ninjas etc so I guess I should just suck it up and get on with it...

I too am short, as a flag bearer I have incredibly low standards.
Renthal 758 ultra low's certainly help a bit but the are a bit more vibey than originals

Dunno, I don't feel right sat forward right up against tank. I'm always shifting my weight back into the hump that separates out the pillion half of the seat. I'm 6' odd so no hassles reaching though.. If I'm forward, I feel my legs are too squashed up behind me and my knees ache.   In fact, when it's wet and I'm in textiles I find I keep sliding forward into the tank on braking or rolling off throttle. Right pisses me off and cocks up my riding as i then start gripping the bars much tighter. So I have been riding with some grippy stuff wrapped around seat to keep my put in textiles. Had same issue with stock bars and now with Renthal 758's.

I've just picked up a new seat off ebay, raised a spot and with grippier cover from the Polish shop. Just arrived so will see how it compares.

When these kind of issues come up from members I just think that the bike must be a perfect fit for my build and height, I have no seating issues or suspension issues, I am 5'8 or 9, 31 or 32 inside leg, and 10 stone maybe that's why I have kept it for 15 years its like it was built for me. One or two people on here have added extra foam under the seat to gain some height.

I tend to slide back towards the tank if I try to put some distance from it personally
