What tyre pressures do you guys run on track days? I'm running on Bridgestone 023's with R1 front end and R6 shock. In my leathers I'm probably 13.5 to 14 stone. I did Silverstone a few months back and it was a chilly damp day and I never touched the pressures and never really noticed any problems, although I wasn't particularly fast either. The tyres looked pretty good afterwards too. I just wondered if any of the TD fiends drop their pressures or run at standard.
Cheers, Mickey

it depends on many,many things.
track temp is the first variable. the higher the temp, the lower the pressure.
tyre type is another. a sports touring tyre will not get as hot as a super corsa, so will need more pressure in it as there will be less increase in internal gas pressure.
are you running 100% nitrogen or basic air (it's amazing the difference that 20% of oxygen makes)
however for supercorsas i run 26R and 30F and have a play in the 3rd session if the tyres look like they are cutting up.
for 023's i'd drop to 34F/R and move about from there, unless it's really cold.

I'm running on standard pressures and normal air... The tread on both tyres were very good after the day with a light roughness and slight balling at the edges

a rosso corsa after 1.52 laps of oulton in august. pretty sure it was set at 27 cold (no warmers allowed)
note how the tread hasn't lifted on either edge (damping spot on) so the tyre gets an easier life.
the amount of times a TD hero says 'check out my tyres' and i'll reply that your damping is sooooo wrong

I had a wonderful day at Brands yesterday. It was very busy with 50 peeps per session and 4 groups. My PB was 1.04 for a lap of the indy

um telling :eek :rolleyes :lol
you're not supposed to time your laps

Apparently so, but a mate with a stop watch recorded lap times. One of my best days on a bike
