In jockland, nee, the weege, to exclaim "AYE RIGHT" after a statement is like sayin "DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!!!" or "THAT'LL BE THE DAY!!!!"

Are you Scottish then? I don't think I have seen one of these bikes in the flesh but if they are as powerful as the old thousand fazer and are modern and a good price then maybe they will be quite popular

A bit plastic'y looking. I'm not keen on all the matt black stuff and the tail 'untidy'!!

Hmm, I see what you mean about "plasticky" also I'm not sure about that can...!

BTW You might want to photoshop out the registration number just to be on the safe side :)

Its the only thing makin the bike appealing.

Looks god awful. Good job on the intel Tor. Pillion pegs look like the came straight off the the ybr and overall finish looks on par with brand new chinese or korean. It really is a poor effort on yams part, as an idea and in its overall execution.

I've seen em in the shop at Chesterfeld and they look better in the flesh.  Not that I'd get one - for the same reasons I wouldn't get a new FZ1. . . I'm skint!

The boyfriend of the new admin girly here has a Fazer 8, not the white one. Wonder if he's on here? She wants to learn biking and was keen to know about my FZ1.

Never understood the blanking of registration plates - it's not as if they're hidden when you're riding the bike.

Think you should change your custom title then to something more like "poor"

Even if I wasn't skint I would not buy one.
A cross between a high reving poorly fueled FZ6 and a high reving poorly fueled FZ1......how appealing......and I own both of the fore-mentioned bikes  :\

No, at least 15 horses and 10 torques less.

this what bike magazine sais about the FZ8
"if yamahas 130bhp,150mph FZ1can be likened to a rampaging wildebeest (and those who've ridden one will know it certainly can) then the FZ8 is his unlucky mate who's been tagged with a tranquilliser dart, staggered around for a bit and just managed to dislodge it before passing out, from the outside, the two animals look almost the same-they're an identical size with matching silouttes-but that instinctive snarl at its core has been tamed, and it's not quite as steady on its hind legs"
and with a comparison against the honda hornet 60 bike said
"if you want an 800,get a hornet 600"
the FZ8 could not out accelerate a hornet 600 in the mid range the hornet being 180cc smaller in engine size

It's a brutal foccer. Can't stand the look of all these FZ Fazers. I've likely just become an old fart dining out on nostalgia.

Those quotes really hit the mark in my opinion. Last July (owning a 2008 Hornet 600 at the time) I had a demo ride on the FZ8, just out of interest, and really didn't like it - it wasn't anything like as good a ride as my Hornet. Then I was told that the dealer had some cheap brand new FZ1s, took one out for a demo ride ... and bought one!

I really don't understand what everyone has got against the FZ8, apart from the list price when it first came out.
The more I ride mine the more I like it.
OK, it's not as fast as say a Kwacker Z1000 in terms of outright acceleration but the roll-on is outstanding. It has got so much useable torque you rarely need to change down!
The fuelling is about the best I have come across for a very long time; the riding position is extremely comfortable.
All in all, it's a great all-rounder.

Well I was in a Yamaha dealers the other day looking at these in the show room, but as I rode there on my Hornet 600, my next bike looks like it should be a new Hornet 600.
saying that I m as skint as the rest so in my dreams.
