Title: Crap on roads
Post by: Shappaeye on 02 September 2016, 06:37:44 pm
Yet again I am looking at another new rear for my 2001 FZS600 thanks to crap on the roads.

I had one replaced a month ago because some think ass tradesman doesn't have a toolbox in his tranny.

Getting a bit tired of this, is it cheaper to drive a 3 litre muscle car? Discuss.

If you're talking about punctures I suggest you stay out of the hatched areas and centre of the road (filtering) for prolonged periods. This is where all the shite gets thrown waiting to inconvenience you.

You would save alot on tyres lol

Haha, I could but I like my Fazer too much.

Second tyre shredded in less than a month. I mostly ride back roads to work so do very little filtering but find hedge cutting and drill bits and screws quite common problems on the roads.

Do you not plug the hole with a repair kit and just wear the tyre out as normal?
I've done this with every puncture over the last couple of decades and it's never caused me any problems!

To be honest, its only the last year I have started having debris in my tyres and on the road, previous to that my biggest enemy was wear and tear.

Any products you recommend or is the Crafty Plugger website the place to head?

I've used a few different ones, but the crafty plugger seems to be the one to choose!

There's a knack to using them too!

Dare I say just before you get a tyre changed, poke a hole through it and have a practice with the repair kit. You'll be thankful when it happens for real out in the middle of nowhere!!

looks like you've contracted the Andy Meldrum syndrome "Magnetic Wheels" and there is only one cure for that --emigration apparently.http://foc-u.co.uk/Smileys/efocicon/wink.gif (http://foc-u.co.uk/Smileys/efocicon/wink.gif)
