And if you want to make it last longer fit a Scott oiler
-
cool - has a scoty already, ordered some DID chains/sprocket for next week 99$ so not bad.
-
go down 1 on the front sprocket for better ecceleration

That seems very cheap for a DID heavy duty chain. You did order heavy duty?

Thanks for the link, very useful. :)
I asked because the OE DID chain is listed in the workshop manual as a ZVM type, which is stronger than the VX. However, looking at DID's website now it appears that they now recommend the VX for the Gen 1 and the ZVM for the Gen 2. If I've read it right, they've upgunned both types so the VX is now very close to the tensile strength of the original ZVM.
Good news for you (and me, I need a new chain soon) because the VX is a good deal cheaper!

I got the upgraded oem chain and sprocket kit a few months ago as new old stock for €160 in Germany, granted is cost €20 postage.
Present chain, a DID ZVM with scottoiler fitted has 24000Km on it, however I did change the front sprocket at 16000Km.
