Title: Where on earth is the earth
Post by: windyg on 20 August 2016, 04:49:05 pm
Having a minor electrical issue so I am after picking your collective brains.

When I ride in heavy rain and sometimes after I have washed the bike I find that the
neutral warning light glows faintly when the bike is in gear , it also flashes alternately
with the indicator warning lamps when I use them.

My first thought is I have a faulty earth so my first question is does any one know where
the clocks earth ?

Second question is has any one else had this issue and how did you fix it.

Thanks in anticipation

The neutral switch is low down at the back of the engine and can get covered in crap.

check and clean the connectors.

Same problem here, glowing neutral light when the bike is/has been wet.

I've cleaned the multiplug going into the back of the dials but that hasn't helped.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I opened up the connector block in the left hand side of the fairing and found some of the connectors had turned green. I have cleaned this out and used Vaseline to keep the moisture out but have yet to ride it in the rain so hopefully its fixed but time will tell.
