Handed to me by the bike mechanic after an engine rebuild.. :rolleyes
I've scoured the Haynes manual to no avail.

Looks like the crankcase breather pipe. Goes from the engine to airbox. It's just an emissions thing. Not really essential. You can see it in the picture

you want to either re-connect it or buy a small crankcase filter dont leave it open for crap,insects or anything else to get down into your engine BUT don't block it off because of pressure build up

Thanks all.
I had my suspicions that it may have been a breather of some description.
It was just hard to see where exactly it went.
I'll hunt down another suitable spring clip and try to refit it. :-)

It looks like the crankcase breather is already in place.
This pipe is slightly straighter & thinner.
Any other suggestions?

Why did the mechanic hand it to you and not refit it on the rebuild? Did it come with words?
