Title: battery bolts

well off to charge my battery after it went flat on tuesday and noticed that the positive bolt is actualley a allen key domed bolt, can you get another bolt if so from where and what size?

cheers rich but dont need a new battery just the bolt as the allen key holes are knacked would love to have a philips/hex bolt just in case i break down so i can use the screwdriver in the kit    but cant find one on ebay  :'(

Normal steel bolts should be fine as long as the metal to metal contact is clean. As always with batteries a little grease on the terminals after you have tightened them is good to prevent corriosion.   ;)

If it's the same as the FZS, the standard bolts are hex with a Philips slot in them anyway.  If you can get one out it goes into a square nut under the terminal.  Any hardware, motor factors or even B&Q should be able to supply you with a couple of bolts with the right thread.

Its a standard short 10mm bolt. I lost one and replaced it with one from my kids swing.
 
They provide a hexagon top with a philips slot just so you can undo it with either tool
How thoughtfull eh?  :) .
 
An allen bolt would be OK with me if it was the right length

thanks guys went to the local moto x center near by and hey presto two proper battery bolts with nuts for the pricly sum of a smile  :lol
