Hello fellow Lofo's So, who's up for a run along the Jurassic coast beginning of July ?
Myself and Red Ceri are planning to don a tent and sleeping bag and set out on the Saturday staying over night somewhere, Midden's up for coming too, we've just got to workout dates cos Midden's an awkward bastard. :D
Obviously some won't be able to stop over but could arrange to meet up along the way either day. Non Lofo's welcome too especially any locals who know some good roads.
I haven't planned a route but going to be the usual Nell's café meet, across country to the A272, as far west as we can get before dropping down to the coast road and taking in the magnificent views and coastline.
If the weathers good we can cool off in the sea and get out on the lash Saturday night before stumbling back to our tents.
Just gauging any interest and letting you know what we have planned in case others fancy converging on us en-route and tagging along.
Thoughts please Foccers

Is there something you two aren't sharing with the rest of us.........................what happened on tour stays on tour??????
-
deffo not first weekend in July, possibly the second weekend for me, although might only get away with a ride on the Saturday.
-
23/24 for me though 2/3 a possibility if pushed............... I await the obvious comebacks ;)
-
If i am not working and can get time off for good behaviour , i will try and meet up with you guys along the way .
-
23/24 for me though 2/3 a possibility if pushed............... I await the obvious comebacks ;)
23/24 that's not the beginning of July..... :rolleyes
-
I'm Up for an over nighter and a few drinks :thumbup 2nd&3rd is ok for me but can't do 9th&10th
-
OK going to try and keep it as fluid as possible but not going to be able to please everyone.
It seems that the 2/3rd July is probably best for the majority so far (sorry Harry :( )
Weather's going to be a factor too as I'm not camping and riding in the pissing rain, so it's going to be forecast permitting.
Don't know where we're going to camp yet but by then we would have come out of the EU and apparently once we do, you can pitch a tent wherever the fuck you like :lol
-
:rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

It's not quite the end either and you can't do the beginning :rolleyes
-
No worries, I've got a beer festival on that Saturday, so not all bad :) hic!
-
Hi Dazza,
I'd definitely be up for some riding/camping and beer, whatever the chosen weekend. A poor weather forecast would be the only deciding factor, as have had more than my fair share of camping in the rain. Where would you be aiming for, somewhere like the Lulworth Cove area, or more into Devon?.
-
Nice one Robbo, yes, somewhere between Bournemouth and Weymouth so Lulworth cove/ Durdle door looks smack in the middle. Bournemouth has a nice sandy beach with plenty of peaches 8) and the coast road west of Weymouth hugs pretty close to the sea.
Also not that much further west from the 272 and the Isle of Wight and we've done that in a day so should be comfortably do-able over the two days.
Nothing's set in stone though and is subject to change with input from others. Where will you be coming from and where will you be meeting us?
Will almost certainly stop at Loomies en-route.
-
Croydon's my nearest town, so meeting up won't be a problem, anywhere on the A272 that's good for you. If you go through Cowfold, I could grab breakfast at The Chalet and meet you on the Cowfold roundabout, depending on how early you leave, or anywhere further west if you're not on the 272 at that point, as I don't know what direction you're coming from. Should be a good crack.
-
Well, we will be coming form Gravesend and heading towards Tunbridge wells picking up the 272 from the beginning. We can meet you at the Chalet café or Tunbridge wells and ride the 272 as a group. Just got to work on times. It's up to you dude.
-
Chalet cafe a new one to try. Shame Harry will miss out ;)
-
We've been there a few time Midden, don't think you've been on the rideouts though. Last time I had to wait about an hour for a fry up....Won't be ordering food there again. Well, I might but will order it before I leave home. :D
-
Hi Dazza,
In that case,if you're coming out of Gravesend on the A227, I can get breakfast at the Oakdene and then meet you on the A227/A20 roundabout at the bottom of Wrotham Hill. If we swap mobile numbers you could call me when you're leaving Nell's,then I'll know how fast to eat. :lol
-
That's a better idea, I'll pm you my number and over the course of the next few weeks meeting times should be better arranged.
-
Excellent.I love it when a plan comes together.

If your still down that way on the sunday a lot of bikes go to West Bay . It's got cafe's & stuff there & Helmet city shop as well .
-
Good info GH600 :thumbup Will definitely head over that way on Sunday.
-
If we were to look in at West Bay around lunchtime, then quite a good way home would be north out of Bridport on the A3066, picking up the A30 just east of Crewkwerne. Then, Shaftesbury, Salisbury, Stockbridge, at the A303 petrol then depending on the time , either A30 to Camberley, south on A331 to A31, A3, M25 home, or if time's short M3 to Junct 4 from the A303 petrol stop to pick up the A331/A31/A3/M25 etc. Just a thought, I use this route when I do a Cornwall and back in a day trip.
-
Brilliant Robbo, quite happy to follow your lead out of West Bay homeward bound. Look's a good route and a new one for me which is always good :thumbup
-
No worries Dazza, it would be my pleasure.
-
Just been informed I have to work on the Saturday night so I'll have to miss out :'(
-
One more option . Sammy Miller motorcycle museum 👍 near New Milton
-
Nice suggestion Robbo, but the LoFos did the Sammy Miller museum two years ago at the second attempt
-
Since when did GH600 look anything like robbo. If you're on the home brew you're on to a winner dude.Lol.
-
Any news if this weekend's a goer.
-
Every time I look at the BBC weather, the forecast is different, I'm OK to leave the decision till Friday but understand if people have to make decision earlier.
-
Keeping a close eye on the weather, going to be a Friday decision for me
If it's going to be wet, we'll postpone it for another weekend.
-
A Friday lunchtime decision is fine with me.
-
OK Friday lunchtime decision it is then,
Just checked the BBC weather page again and the forecast has changed again, earlier it was light showers most of Saturday and none Sunday, now its showers around 10am only on Saturday and showers from 10am to 4pm Sunday :(
-
It's not looking good guys.that's a long ride home in the rain
-
This freakin weather is getting me down. I was hoping to get away with a couple of pals last weekend. We cou;ld go where the sun was shining, west north or south to Northern France. Needless to say the forecast on the Thurs pm was showers everywhere so we aborted. Glad we did because it was torrential rain and storms everywhere.
Freakin weather :(
-
I'm going to postpone this due to uncertain wet weather and wait for some dead cert sunshine........Is this possible in this country? Who knows, let's see what next weekend brings
-
Good call Dazza, hopefully next weekend then.
-
It's not looking good guys.that's a long ride home in the rain
long ride in the rain? Have you started riding a Vespa ;)

Guys is this hapenning? The end of July looks great :)
-
Yep, sill plan on this happening but this weekend looks wet (again :rolleyes ) and as most should be aware my :faz is undergoing a heart transplant ATM due to throwing a chain through the engine casing. :\
I'm planning on being back on the road by next weekend so if the weather look's better for the tail end of July, that's OK with me. I'm all for waiting till the summer actually starts.
SO, for me, I'm just waiting for the right weather and a working bike and I'm good to go.
-
The long range forecast for next weekend at the moment is perfect.Full sun both days.
-
Right Foccers, back on the road and rearing to go. This weekend coming 23rd/24th July looks like a goer subject to good weather, who's still up for an overnight jaunt to Dorset ?
-
Yep, I'd still be up for that.
-
Confirmed with Dazza, via text, that I'm OK for 23rd/24th
-
Bump to see if any other interest,
Me, Dazza, Rob and possibly Kitkrazy are heading off this Saturday 23rd on our Jurassic Coast jaunt and wondered if anyone else is interested.
Meeting at Oakdeane Cafe on A20 about 11am Saturday as Dazza might be working late Friday and he seriously needs his beauty sleep
-
If I'm not working I'll meet you for a Breccy @ Oakdene.
-
really looking forward to this one.I'd better apologize now for the snoring :lol sorry guys
-
Oh well..looks like it will be in stereo then. :D
-
I had best not, the outlaws are down this weekend, I pissed off on a foccer ride out the last time they were down, according to the Wife it was noted by said outlaws that I wasn't around, they might start to think it's personal if I go out again....... :b :rollin
I'll see if I can get a cheeky brekkie at Oakdene, Dazza if you don't hear from me, assume it's a no :\
-
See you Saturday then Foccers, should be a good one, Robbo and Mel, look's like you're bunking up together....Might just leave my earplugs in.
Just had a look on the website and they've got a campsite right opposite and old peoples home .......Just in case Red98 was undecided....Plenty of bluerinse action there my friend. :lol
-
:rollin :rollin.I'll try and get a tent from somewhere can't put anyone through that :lol

Had a bimble down to chesil beach yesterday, this piccie taken from portland........can never get bored of this view, if you've never been its well worth it :thumbup
as a contrast I also went to swanage, never been before so just to have a nose, very hot yesterday and the beach was packed, you just got to love thd british holiday maker.....why oh why do they have to take so much junk for a day on the beach :lol
The view from portland of chesil beach....possibly the best view in england
swanage...sunburn capital of the world :lol
-
Nice one Red, cracking view that. To be fair we could of done with two nights camping down that way which would of left us with a whole day to explore and the rest travelling there and home.
Maybe we should organise another with a longer stop over.
-
Yeh, know what you mean dazza, left home at 9 am did'nt get in till 10.30 pm...fantastic scenery and lots of it to see, did'nt really want to come home :'(
-
Mel couldn't handle two nights in his Wendy house.
-
:lol :lol :lol BTW Red, did you take any photos of the canal ?
-
When im down that way i take the ferry across to swanage from poole. Cuts out a lot of less atractive miles.
