Title: any opinions lads
Post by: downey on 14 June 2016, 12:20:14 am
so i sold the s1000rr tonight ,sad to see it go tbh but it awakened many an ache and pain i thought id recovered from, but its given me a taste for having somehting new/newer/newish ,so as always was browsing and saw a 2011 aprillia tuono v4r aprc edition ,fairly local , now ive never had a vtwin or even considered an apprilia as always thought of them as problematic for some reason, but the more i look at it ,,it is after growing on me , has anyone here had any experience with one or know of any faults they might be known for ,be good to get some feedback guys ,,cheers

2011 aprillia tuono v4r aprc edition

Thats a V4 not a V Twin, the clue is in the title :pokefun

I have been looking for a new/newer bike for ages (keeping my Gen 1 though). The all seem either too tall, too cramped, too heavy, or my main issue a poxy small tank.

I have had a VTR1000, stopping every 100 miles or less is a real pain in the arse.

Good luck with the search.

My friend across the road from me has a tuono and he loves it. However, he did state that it is a thirsty beast. The only other issue I know of him having with it was the speedo cable as it is not very well protected from damage as it rubs against the frame and not enough space to add proctetive padding.

V4 Tuono's are fecking awesome - if I wasn't paying for a helicopter, I'd have one now.

I've had my RSV for 13 years and it's run like a dream. I've got 2 mates with V4 Tuono's and 3 with RSV4's - any scaremongering of reliability or quality issues are from our experience total bullshit.

Yes, there may be the odd issue reported somewhere, but on the whole they've been at least as reliable as any similar typical Yamaha/Honda/Suzuki/Kawasaki.

Mind you, Triumph's Speed Triple's have always looked good to me too 😄

The helicopter's my life dream - got my licence when I was 52 but while I was training I thought it would be a good idea to buy my own rather than paying to hire one (yes, I know, I could have bought another house, or a couple of Aston's, or a shed full of bikes, but wtf, you only live once eh !) It's definitely faster than a bike A-B and it's really cool to fly - but mega expensive though !

Lovely TV4 - I'm sure you made the right decision and you'll love it.

Were you on stilts when you took that photo or did the bike shrink on the wet ride home? Very nice BTW, must be great to ride.
