Are there any real ale fans out there, I've just had a bottle of Timothy Taylor's landlord bitter and it's ace!
I like the dark ones but I'm also partial to a blonde in the summer months. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to tyr? try, sorry went all welsh there. :eek
I'm now having a Nun's Delight (not it's real name) from Faversham in Kent. What do you reccomnd?
-
IPAs for me, not too heavy and easily quaffable :D
Landlord is a good one, and I'm partial to a Dizzy Blonde on occasion :b
-
Quite partial to the Innis and Gunn range of beers.
-
Supping an Abbot Ale as I type, couple of tins of Banks mild at home for later. Hobgoblin definitely recommend
-
Kriek - Belgian Cherry Beer, is my facve, closely followed by Trippel (dark, high alcohol) and then Duvel.
No apologies for choosing all Belgian beers, I've not found a nice UK beer for about 30 years (last one was Theakstons Special Brown Ale in the late '70's/ early 80's).
-
Hopback Summer Lightening is my favourite, golden summer brew obviously, although its so good they do it all year round now.

Yeah dark ones in the winter and blondes in the summer, that sounds like fun :lol
as long as their game, well so am I :rollin
(Sorry that might not be relevant to OP)
-
Leffe is my favourite brew although I am partial to an abbot ale when the mood takes
-
Nun's delight, Bishops Finger, actually named after a style of signpost here in Kent. I live about 6 miles from the Sheps brewery.
Landlord is a lovely pint, not sure I've got a favourite beer though.
Our local micropub has lots of different beers on throught the year. They did a week of doing beers by the Blue Monkey brewery, they were nice.
I love beers from the Dark Star brewery, especially Revelation and Hophead.
Badger tanglefoot is a great beer, servered chilled at BBQs.
I always have a pint of Ringwood Fortyniner if I see it on tap, great beer.
-
I seriously cannot stand any of that stuff, i find it quite vile and simply cannot drink it.
There's a fella in my local that will order one of the many ales available along with a large jug of hot water so he can warm his drink up!!!
What the fuck is that all about, it must be like drinking bitter soup?
Give me a cold pint of Thatchers any day. :b

Thatchers :moon tastes like piss, go wash your mouth out.
Most real ale is served to cold to help keep, it should be cool not cold hence the warming up by said bloke.

I have had almost all of the ones mentioned and last night we had a BBQ and the 3 on the glass table are from last night and are great for summer as they are good to be chilled and the most tasty one is the west coast ipa which is strange as it has the least alcohol - usually I find the tasty ones have more % which is why I like all the ones in the photo on asda's shelf and the Leff
The Amigo is also a good summer cold one

I dont mind scrumpy either
-
Who likes beer??!? What sort of a question is that?
For me I love all german beers. Pilsners and Weiss (wheat) beers. All day long the best beers in Europe!
In the UK, I quite like anything brewed by Wychwood or Adnams. I must also admit despite it's watery complete lack of flavour I do like a bit of Caffreys. :eek
But if we're mixing I definitely go for Tennants super (tramp) and white lightning. ;) :D

If i wanted a lumpy drink i'd have a Cup A Soup :lol
-
Doombar or Admans Southwold for a session but give Adnams Broadside a try.
IPA's in general are quite good.
to be fair, if I am in a pub and they have something I haven't tried before and it isn't too strong, I will give it a go regardless of what else they have on draft.
-
Theakston Old Peculier is worth a try, just make sure you drink it standing up, has a strange habit of taking your legs from underneath you.
-
+1 for Broadside, Old Peculiar Hobgoblin and Summer Lightning.
Have a go with some of the Oakham Ales. JHB and Inferno are worth a punt.
-
Well as explained earlier yesterday we had a BBq with some nice IPA, well today I could not face cleaning the BBQ so I thought the best thing to do was to just have another one which of course meant more IPA, cheers focers !!!
-
I seem to be drinking mainly Guinness lately although my favourites have to be the Belgian monk beers, Hertog Jan, Hoegaarden, etc. Partial to a nice whisky too (Islays at that).

Otter Beers good
Doom Bar is good too
my local has an annual beer fest on 4th June where all the beer (normally 30 beers & 15/20 Ciders) are donated & money raised goes to Charity air ambulance.. plus bands
I don't often get past 7 or 8 different ones though lol

( I don't mind admitting )
-
Bit embarrassed to see that I was actually also the last person to post in here.
Anyyyy who
These are actually quite tasty and at 79p each at Morrisons :eek

If you ever see Leffe Royale on draft go for it but be warned it is a taxi home if you have a couple of pints. Best beer I have tasted in years.
I went out to the pubto watch the football on TV(live in France) Liverpool v C Palace. I normally only ever have a 2 pints over 2 hours if driving home. This stuff 4 pints and I was ticking. Got a taxi home and collected the car in the morning.
I have tried Leffe beers over all their range but this Leffe Royale was the bees.
-
The local rugby club had a fireworks event on Friday and over ordered bright beer for the beer tents so got a bargain on this. Just got to drink much more than normal this week to avoid it going to waste
