Hi. Just took my wonderful 1998 Fazer out for the first ride this year. The carburetor’s nr. 2 and 3 is dripping gasoline. Any idea? Is it the Oring from the floaters house or?
It started dripping when the fuelpumpe had finished making pressure.

the float needle is probably stuck open from old petrol. it's time to give those carbs a clean

How do i remove / clean the float needle? Can it be done when the carbs is on the bike?
-
It'd be very fiddley to do it with the carbs still in the bike. I wouldn't try it. There's not a lot of access and the float bowls screws are usually hard to undo. You'd be better off taking them out and doing it on the bench

:agree...yep, carbs out jobbie......not much room with the carbs in place, while your in there check the float height aswell .
nice bike you got there......same as mine :thumbup

It might be worth checking the fuel pipe / connection / connector on the top of the carburetor before you pull everything out. The hose can perish.
(there are 2 coolant hoses too, I've had one of those go before, although I'm sure you know the difference between fuel and coolant)
Carbs out and strip I managed in a long afternoon. It's easy enough with a Haynes manual, a decent set of screw drivers and arms like Mr Tickle.
