Title: Horny devil!!
Post by: 1967fazer on 05 March 2012, 10:53:00 pm
Sick of the pathetic, weedy standard horn on my gen 1, any suggestions/recomendations for replacement? Must be suitable for making dumbass Range Rover drivers aware I'm there when they are reversing straight out onto the road in front of me!!!!

i want a better horn, but the ones ive looked at seem big so will cause trouble when fitting.

Just checked out the Nautilus horn on You tube........niiiice :lol  Had a look on ebay, they are going for around the 25 quid mark, they look very compact so I'm guessing fairly easy to install as well. Will have to purchase one as soon as ebay decide to let my current purchases go thru!!!!

They now do a compact, but it is still big. Doubt it will just fit where IS horn is.

I've got a twin air horn set up, adapted by previous owner to have compressor under the seat and one horn either side inside fairing. Even that is a tight fit. With air pressure, horn won't work over 100 mph, which does not affect me, but watch where the horns point if using air horns, should really be back and down.

Can not remember exactly but I fitted a STEBEL MAGNUM. I made a bracket from a flat bit of thin steel so that the bigger horn sat up a bit into the fairing - offer it up first and work out your bends in  the bracket so to use the same fixing point on the frame
