Just want to know if on the header pipes of the exhaust, where the 4 pipes join on that straight bit of pipe there I have a small hole from corrosion, can these be welded up to give a bit of time until I am ready to buy replacement headers? it is on the underside of the pipe so it would not be seen. The bike sounds a bit louder since this hole appeared a couple of days ago.

Yes it's possible but that's dependant on exactly where how big and the skill of the person welding.

Ok thanks I will take a pic tomorrow, maybe someone can judge it, but I suppose i will need to get down to the welders yard this weekend and see if I can get it done.

Here's a picture, looks perforated

I have some pin pricks that I am needing to look at but looking at the state of the rest of yours I would say it is fooked, just to thin and weak to weld, the weld may cause more damage than it cures IMO

That's to far gone mate for welding if you are wanting to patch up you can buy an exhaust bandage to wrap around it

Ok guys thanks for your opinions. I did think it looked a bit mushed when I was able to get up close to it and take the pics. I will have put some fire gum on it tonight and will get some aluminium tape to put on it whilst I hunt around for a decent set of used headers or splash out on some new ones if i can stretch that far.

It's worth paying that bit more and getting stainless headers if you can stretch to them.
