Well I tried at the weekend tobalance the carbs, that was the easy bit, but the bit in that tutorial said to do the TPS but i could bot get mine ot read anything on the rev counter so I have no idea if it is set correctly or not.

Followed the instructions but nothing, any one nay ideas as to why??

Thanks

Did it go to 3000rpm when unplugged?

When you say 'didn't read anything' what exactly are you saying?
Did you actually try and physically move it at all?

Ok will try it later when i get home just unplugging it not taking it off. :lol

Presumably it's been put back on, although there's a good chance it is in the wrong position now.

It should've also been positioned correctly before and after the carb balance so i obviously can't say for sure if all will be well just in case it was out of position beforehand?

Loosen the TPS screws so that it can be moved, then unplug the TPS (i use a key for gentle leverage) and turn the ignition on (not the engine).

Whilst unplugged and switched on the RPM needle will go back and forth from 0rpm to 3000rpm.

Plug the TPS back together then the needle will either go to 0rpm, 5000rpm or 10,000rpm.

You want it to be on the 5000rpm position and can be done by gently turning the TPS from side to side, and when it lands on it you can then nip the screws back up.

Leave the ignition switched on while doing all this, it'll only take a minute to do, so turn off lights, heated grips, etc, to save some battery life.
