Is it just me or is it a tad rude when people join this forum and go straight in with a link to something they are selling on flea bay etc. I appreciate that an odd time this will suit a member but surely it would suit a member more if it was offered to members first (10 days ?) before being advertised anywhere else. Even a certain amount of posts before they can sell something, then we might know a wee bit about them ! Not that I am saying all people are dodgy. This has nothing to do with recent posters (members) as it happened plenty on the old site, I can recall some 'welcome to the site' remarks on some adverts.
Sorry for the out of character soft rant, but god it bugs me !

Doesn't bother me as long as it's Fazer related. I'd read and see what they've got on offer. Public site and there's no rules or regs to stop it as far as I know. What I will object to is people spaminig and selling Drugs and pharmacuticals, and other such shite that's not Fazer related.

Personally I don't see a problem. Ok, if they kept on just posting ads etc then that would be different, but otherwise, they come, they post an ad, they either stick around and join in or disappear, no big deal.

used to bug the hell out of me !!!
but not so much now , as long as its related to the site, and they take the time to introduce themseleves and not just first post selling my bike /kits /spares ,

And on that note hopefully people will nip up to the Intro section more often to welcome new foccers :thumbup
But back on topic, what people are saying is that first-time posts selling Fazer and bike stuff is OK, but other stuff should be treated as spam.

Personally I think it's ill-mannered to just join a social site, such as this, for the sole purpose of flogging your bike/gear/bits etc with no intention of socialising. On many sites I have frequented ove rthe years there have been post counts/time limits set to encourage people to become part of the community.

I just feel it would be nice to see their intro and a few posts before they put in an advert. My main gripe is at those who,s first post is for a link to flea bay etc for something they have already been selling, found this site and wham, up comes the advert. The foc-u family, in my opinion, should get first go at said item if they want to use the site to advertise, not after all and sundry have had a chance.
Note : This does not mean everybody.

What Pepy is saying is that he earned a reputation in the Intro forum by reminding new members to fill in their profiles and thus earned his Profile Police tag HTH :)
