Title: Tyre Pressure on Aftermarket wheels?
Post by: Tiercel on 14 November 2015, 10:15:49 am
I *think* the previous owner of my Fazer has fitted aftermarket (possibly R1?) wheels, and fatter tyres than the stock ones.

Whilst this makes handling lovely, and long sweeping bends an absolute pleasure (though it does give me the turning circle of a battleship)... Ive got no idea what pressure I should set my tyres to! Any suggestions?

I think tyre sizes are front: 120/70/17 and rear 190/50/17 (though doing that from memory, at work at the moment! Will have to double check when on break! :P )

Would've thought a 190 would touch the swingarm?

I thought that would be too obvious  :rollin  thought different bike, different weight etc that they might need to be set differently. Google seems to imply 36 front 42 rear (for an R1) which seems a bit high to me, then again Ive only ever had a 125 with cheap shitty chinese tyres that were a simple 30PSI all round and forget about it!

36 front and 42 rear is the industry standard for modern tyres so somewhere round there to your liking should do
