Title: New gen 1 has 7000rpm fault code.........................
Post by: nickodemon on 22 October 2015, 11:44:34 pm: I got the new bike yesterday and the tacho was showing the 7000 exup fault... I stripped and cleaned the valve and then lubed with ceramic grease, it feels like it rotates absolutely fine. I then started the bike and it is again showing the 7000 rpm exup valve fault....

Check the cable are free running and there is slack at the valve first. (Wemoto do a set of cables for £50)

If cables are fine change the Exup motor

Post by: Red Ceri on 23 October 2015, 12:16:18 pm: If your cables need adjusting and all you did was clean and grease the valve and put the cables back where they were without re-setting them you would still get the 7k fault code,

Then re-check for fault code.

Post by: nickodemon on 23 October 2015, 05:07:24 pm: Cables were slack, so adjusted and all seems well :thumbup Took it for a spin and motor feels good :thumbup Looked at fork seal and it's leaking :thumbdown Bugger. need to order seals, so is the front end definitely 5pw r1 (2002 - 2003)

Post by: nickodemon on 23 October 2015, 10:46:18 pm: They were also routed wrong and the valve was positioned slightly out. I will check again tomorrow, as it seems to do it if the bike has been lying a while as it stops doing it when the bike has warmed up

Post by: nickodemon on 24 October 2015, 04:53:16 pm: Just taken the bike for a 30 mile ride in the wet. It doesn't like white lines! It also doesn't seem to want to lean over as much as the standard fazer? I thought it would because of the r1 front and r6 rear. It definitely doesnt handle anything like my fazer with the 2008 r1 front/r6 shock. I think the chain is too tight so going to loosen it off a bit and see if that has affected the handling. Fork seal has stopped leaking. Just bought a set of seals as well :'(

They are 43mm :) I now have a set of fork seals that will sit on the shelf until such time as i need them :( I have been out again and the fork is still not leaking, so i think either i have been spraying wd 40 or gel cleaner and it has got on the stanchion :groan
