If I get the wires around the wrong way will they flash backwards?

Nope! They will still work as per usual with no damage caused - only difference being that the threaded part of the bulb holder will be positive instead of negative. Do try to get them correct though as it will make future fault finding easier.

It was just a silly question that popped up in my head as I was taking them off, bloody previous owner had done a right bodge job on them (aftermarket mini's) I was going to paint them matte black but the wires on the rear have been cut so close to the indicator theres virtually no wire to solder so a sets on its way from ebay

:lol I've got those aftermarket mini indicators, mines didn't have much spare to be honest. They seem to flash a lot quicker than the standard ones, I think it's because the bulb wattages are lower?

He'd used the bullet connectors on the front but cut the rears and soldered them leaving about 6 inch's on the offside but about an inch on the nearside. If they were in better condition I'd re solder them but the reflectors are shot so in the bin they've gone

If you connect the two wires together you just get a flash :lol
-
Be careful, you don't want them flashing upside down.

No, but they will flash in reverse, or maybe they will create anti-light...
