hi
im jamie i brought a bumble bee 2002 fazer 3 4 months ago
not had a issue with her at all apart from the past 1 months.
ive been getting a whinning noise coming from the engine. it happens when bike is rev'd but only in gear at around 3/6k revs.
if i pull the clutch in the noise dissapear's.
so ive been tinkering around i removed the clutch cover near front sprocket and the gear shaft moves and has around 2/3mm play.
so im thinking that the gear shaft bearing gone or a bearing inside the gear box has gone.
im wondering if any one has had any other issues with this time of problem and is there a fix for it.
my only way i can see it being fixed it to split the crank case and replacing the bearing.
which is a big job in its self.
thanks jamie

The gear boxes do generally whine on these bikes anyway, it was the main reason i wanted to change the exhaust when i bought mine to drown out the noise.

That'd be adding weight though. He'd be down 1bhp. You need to angle grind a few links off the chain.
