Grind it off?
-
When mine failed I remember I had to teared the old switch to pieces to get it out and fit the new one with the bolt through from the wrong side and then a bolt on the end of it but can't remember the details

I'm just junking mine, the days of leaving my side stand down have long gone. I've cut the wires just under the seat and soldiered them so just want to ditch the switch.
Grinder does seem the logical method
Thanks

You just love that grinder dont you !
You could always leave the switch there
-
yea leave it what harm's it doing? Or better yet fix it properly with a new switch.

It's not broken, just don't find it has any use other than to play up should it start sticking, easy was to make sure it never becomes an issue is to get rid of the thing
Yes I love my grinder, best tool next to my hammer lol :eek
TBH if we lived in a country with more predictable weather I'd run my bikes with daylight MOT, no lights etc etc, two wheels and engine and a frame to hold it all together, what more do you need :D

seems mad to cut it off if it's working but it's your bike. angle grind away my good man. for what it's worth on my current bike someone has bypassed the side stand switch and I've ridden off with it down a couple of times. You'd be surprised how often you pop it into gear without kicking the stand up and you won't notice how often you do it until you've cut it off

Have said it before and will again. !0lb = 1 BHP so I get extra horse power for the price of a grinding disc. Not much of a saving but every little helps :D
And I get to use my grinder lol

I think I was about 18 the last time I tried cornering with my stand down, was a pant filling experience, got into a bit a pre set off ritual after that.

I've not got as far as cornering just pulled away and then the crunch and the bike hops up a bit. An experience you're sure to be reacquainted with if you hack off the switch
