Title: Rear shock upgrade
Post by: helmetvonthrob on 30 August 2015, 01:52:10 pm
So I would like to upgrade the bouncy rear of my FZ6.

So can someone tell me what exactly I need shock + fittings and any how to/pitfalls.

Also, has anyone done the Progressive fork spring upgrade and got any comments.

Thanks in advance

Apparently digging around I need an R6 shock, anyone tell me what version/year?

Thanks

An R6 shock won't fit an FZ6 (bottom mounting point for starters), but an early R1 shock might do the job instead.  I have PM'd you a couple of links which might be of help.

Thanks to Kebab19 for the links.

I'm pondering on what to do next with my soggy rear and I realise that the spring on my current shock is not strong enough to cope with the punishment I'm giving it.

I've read about swapping springs from other models/manufacturers, has anyone done this?
