Title: Insecure Inlet Stub Spigot
Post by: Iceman on 29 August 2015, 05:31:22 pm
I've just carried out the Ivan's slip-on modification to my 2004 bike and all went well; the only hold-ups being whilst I tracked down a decent pin vice and then a T20 torx security bit to adjust the throttle position sensor.

However (there's always a however), the AIS vacuum hose connected to No. 4 inlet stub spigot didn't want to budge and in the process of removal, the inlet stub itself partially withdrew from the inlet stub.  It was clearly stuck in with something so does anyone have a advice on a suitable adhesive?  It's not the tightest of fits so definitely needs some sealant/adhesive.

Also I wondered if it's normal to need to adjust the TPS post mod?

Oh and I now have a decent pin vice and homemade plastic guide for checking the float heights (well worth the effort) if anyone in the parish (Pembrokeshire) is thinking of doing a DIY Ivan's.

BTW many thanks to Mike and Pat for their excellent instructions.

I've had that happen a couple of times.  A smear of epoxy adhesive does the trick. :)

Yes, always adjust TPS and balance carbs post-Ivanising.

Much appreciated.

TPS adjusted (10k rev counter indication initially) and carbs balanced.

Thanks again.
