Title: Black frame paint
Post by: slappy on 11 August 2015, 12:37:35 pm
Washing the bike today I noticed that some of the black paint has rubbed off the swingarm on my gen2 right down to the bare alloy, probably caused by my boot rubbing on it.
Anyone had the same problem and if so what did you use to touch it up? The cheaper the better :)
Also any tips on what to use to polish the black frame up with, it always looks dull.

Yep mine was really tatty but unfortunately if you want it to look good as new it takes time, proper preparation and the right paint. I used these. not cheap but they do the job right. http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/shop-paints.php?colourscheme=13769&20918=on (http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/shop-paints.php?colourscheme=13769&20918=on) I used the 400ml aerosols and they did a perfect job. Just a light coat, leave it to dry, light rub down, another light coat, etc. Continue until you're happy with the finish and then two coats of lacquer.

I have used RS in the past, like you say not cheap but good quality, I was just hoping someone had got good results with a cheap rattle can from Halfords.
