Title: Carb caps removal???
Post by: dickturpin on 17 February 2012, 09:16:25 pm
Any tips for getting the rubber caps off the carbs to allow a carb balance to be done? No, I haven't got any of those long reach plier things with a bent nose!! .....Hoping the answer won't be 'Get some of those long reach plier things with a bent nose!'

'Get some of those long reach plier things with a bent nose!'

Or
you can use a long flat head screwdriver as well but it is fiddly
i dont have that problem anymore as i did the cross-over mod and thats realy easy to remove.

The little clamps don't take much compressing.  You should be able to get at 1 & 4 with your fingers.  Possibly #2 as well, depending on the size of your hands.

For #3, use the flat-blade 'driver but put a magnetic extension tool on the clamp to stop the cap flying off and dropping where you can't see/reach it. :)
