Title: FZ6 Spark Plugs
Post by: Grahamm on 09 July 2015, 11:47:51 pm
I've just bought a new set of plugs for my FZ6-SA (2006), but noticed that I've been sent CR9E plugs which have a single "horn" going over the electrode, rather than a pair (one each side) as the standard ones on the bike have which are, apparently, CR9EK plugs.

Is there a difference between the two more than just the design or are these ok to use?

if it's the horn that wears away then the one with 2 should last twice as long? I changed mine at 38,000 miles and they still looked OK, I think 16,000 is the recomended mileage to change them.

Mine were last changed at the 24,000 mile service and I've done around 53,000 now, so I decided I really should do them (although they're working fine at the moment).

It's more a case of whether the two-horn style is better to use or if there's no difference apart from the style.
