Title: Foxeye mirrors
Post by: Jamieg285 on 01 June 2015, 01:14:47 pm
Just upgrade from a boxeye to foxeye and working out some of the differences.

The mirrors are clearly different, but are they supposed to be foldable?  If they are, mine are very stiff, and I want to be sure before I start trying to force them.

Assuming they are suppoesed to move, the boxeye ones went backwards and forwards, is that the same with the foxeye?  The rubber around the mount looks different, so I'm not sure.

I have fox eye mirrors on my box eye and they fold back and I have just checked and discovered they will also fold forward.

Yup, fold exactly the same and should be easy, possibly you have aftermarket pattern ones

I had another look tonight.  I think I may have been trying to fold them the wrong way. They fold more upright than the boxeye ones. You can fold them in and they don't get in the way of the handle bars.

Another way to check if they fold back is walk past them and nudge them with your arm/shoulder and they should fold back in towards the bike as this is how they're designed in case you hit something with them as your travelling so they don't just snap off. Sometimes just trying to do it by hand it doesn't seem like they'll move due to you giving a constant pressure as apposed to a 'sharp' bang on them.
