Title: Garmin Virb Elite or Sony mini action cameras
Post by: nsr500v4 on 04 May 2015, 09:18:59 pm
Anyone have either? Pros and cons of both if you can.....can they be charged from the bike instead of using the cam battery, video quality, GPS etc?

i've got a maginon bullet cam, a muvi copy and a sj4000.

the maginon claims to be 720 but usually gives 480
the muvi was handy to pop inside your lid but quality rqnged from merely ok to poor.
the sj claims full hd but gives 720.

none of them liked electrical currents too close to them.

btw the maginon survived an 'off' at cadwell and still works fine.

imo i'd rther buy a copy first and make all the mistakes with cheap gear rather than lob a £400 gopro down the road

I've just been offered one of the Sony cameras through a work "bonus gift" site. Seems to be the older, discontinued, model though. £100 camera for free though may get the vote.

I wouldn't mine a virb. Gets fair write ups. I think ive read you cant charge at the same time though?
I've got a Zumo 590 and the virb can be controlled from that, hence why I would have one (when I spot an absolute bargain!!)
