Title: hard gear changes and hard to find neutral when engine is on.
Post by: MESSIAH on 19 April 2015, 05:29:11 pm
Does anyone know how I can make any adjustments to check. It's hard to find neutral when engine is on and it's hard to change gears up.

I think it just needs adjusting but I'm not sure.

Thanks.

I would start by adjusting the clutch from the bottom end first then tweak it at the top.

Do you have any idea how old the cable might be, if the above doesn't help then changing the cable would be my next step?

Is your drive chain very slack? If it is tighten it to spec. A very slack chain can cause your symptoms. Also as darrsi says get the clutch nicely lubed and working freely

Before you adjusting anything clean the shit and sludge out of the clutch push mechanism on the inside of your sprocket housing?
