What are the softest or some of the softest tyres I can get for a fazer 6? I don't commute on mine so can get away with sportier tyres as appose to sport tourers for the summer.. ?

This is a very personal choice fella based on riding style etc. so you'll get endless subjective answers. Search "tyres" and you'll see what I mean.
The pic of your bike shows next to no chicken strips so what's the issue with the existing tyres?

Just chuck some Rosso 2's on it, i had them on my 600 & they were pretty sticky....plus they're cheap.

No issue with the current tyres, I'm just curious more than anything :)
yea I've run Pirelli diablos on past bikes and their always pretty grippy

I've used Dunlop Sportmax Q2s and liked them (track only environment on the track Fazer), and my mate has used Q3s on the same bike and liked them better again.
Heat up quickly, grip good, only rode in the wet once but didn't seem too bad in the wet, but not fantastic (hard to tell what's a good wet tyre while slithering around a soacked race track). Dry they were great though.

I have a set of the latest Pirelli Supercorsa's on my bike the are superb for track day use and are ok for the road too.

I keep reading peoples comments on tyres being 'okay' or 'not so good' in the wet, but good in the dry.
If i had a tyre that wasn't good in the dry then there's a serious issue with them, and they'd be straight in the bin.
For me, all i care about is are they very good in the wet, 'cos let's face it, that's where it counts the most in the UK.
Once you've solved wet weather safety, then dry weather is just a treat. :D

I feel a bit like entering the lions den with this one !
I found PR3's excellent in the wet and when cold , the best I've ever had, BUT they did have some limitations in the dry, I could light up the rear tyre coming out of a bend without too much provocation, I had them on my Ducati S2R 800 so maybe not a fair comparison with a Fazer, best tyres I've had for all round use on my Fazer were Continental Conti Motion, they got proper slagged off in the press and they didn't last long but they very good , predictable grip all the time. now running Dunlop Sportmax 209, so far so good, just my tuppence worth,

How about the reverse situation, what about long lasting tyres? I mainly commute up and down the motorway 100 miles per day. Because I spend so long on the bike I rarely take it out at weekends and then only when it's fine. The BT Battlaxe that was on there when I bought it a month back is getting quite squared off.

BT023 has a good reputation for longevity, but also a very good all rounder.

Had almost 2 years and about 13K out of a Metzeler Z6 on rear of bike. Still got a tread left for a few more months, but is a bit squared off. Got a Z8 on front, just over year old and done about 7K, loads of life left in that one. Either way, I thought that was pretty good going longevity wise. They've felt reasonably grippy even when hooning it around the twisties in the wet, only twitching at back when really pushed in wet.
BTW There's currently some deals on: Michelin are doing £35 cash back on a set of tyres (or £15 on one tyre). Metzeler are doing a £50 Dianese voucher on pair tyres.

For longetivity (and decent grip, even in the wet): Metzeler Z8. Z6 are cheaper, but not as good. I'd go with Z8 for the front at least, while rear can be Z6.
