Doh, I'm already attending an event that weekend (Japfest at Castle Coombe) so I'm out I'm afraid :) Enjoy your grease!!
-
Put my name down.
-
Start nights on 17th so doubtful I'll be attending.
-
Count me in
-
Damm, wont be able to do this one as my kids will be over as they do every other weekend ( the joys of being a divorced dad )
-
Is there any flexibility on the date Harry so that as many foccers as possible can attend, not trying to piss on your parade, just a thought.
I'm in no matter what the date.
-
It's always tricky offering more dates because there will always be some that can and some that can't but how about the 24th May??
-
Just for info I CAN'T do the 10th May, I'll be touring in Normandy that weekend
-
17th is ok depending on timings and where we're ending up. Need to be in Westminsterfor 6ish

Can't do 24th as I have media passes for this event.

Realistically we all have different commitments at different times - best off sticking with one date and trying to get people to join. If they can't then they can always try the next one :) Bad enough herding the cats yourself, let alone trying to get them to do it themselves :lol
-
Like dead eye said pick the date and stick to it. 24th I will be on holiday. :-) so cant do then either.
-
!7th it is then!
-
It's a no from me....girls with me that weekend. Enjoy!
-
17th works better for me too. Off on holiday 25th, so will likely be busy packing on 24th.
-
Have my daughter that weekend
-
Count me in :)
-
Looks like I can have the best of both worlds, can do 17th and go to Palace Motorsports as I grew up just around the corner and go back frequently with my grandsons and my dogs. Just adopted a lurcher to join my Staff who was a stray, they are brilliant together and both fabulous with the boys.
-
On behalf of HarryHornby, congratulations Grandma you've just volunteered yourself to lead the ride ;)

Nice to hear you'll be up at the Palace for the motorsport. We can meet up and have a coffee when the racing cars have a lie down and rest for lunch.
-
Just bumping this up in case anyone missed it :-)

I'll be snapping both days on the infield but I always have a walk about, burger and beer during the lunchtime break so any day is good.

I would love to have joined you guys this time, but I'll be attending the Ride of Respect... :-/

Found a photo of my Fazer 1000 I sold to buy 2009 Fazer 1000 which I wrote off on M20 which led me to buy Fazer 8!
The guy who bought the black Fazer 1000 still has it and loves it, even calls it Grandma, only sold it as so heavy it was pulling my shoulders out and I have arthritis in right shoulder where I hit the deck in Scotland in 2009 after being knocked off R1.
Still have the R1 sort of, as I gave it to my son,but rode it in March to go to Margate for the sand racing as the Fazer8 was trapped in garage while the drive was being relaid.
-
Just think.... this time next week...... Sun, Breakfasts, cups of tea, FAZERS....... The only way is Essex!!!
Bagsy I'm Mark Wright :D
-
Where exactly are we going, does anyone actually know this route ? Are we winging it or all following Grandma ?
-
VERY good questions, Dazza! Fancy conplicating what could be a great day out with details like that! :b
I've got paper copies of that route from last time that I will hand out on the day.
I've certainly never ridden the route I'm afraid, my slippery shoulders of responsibility were hoping someone more local would have a rough idea lol
I think Kosmic was going to lead last time......
-

.
So the LOFO's are being rebranded as a foccin reading group ;) and potentially a new reality program WTFGTE
-
So Everyone, looks like it's going to be dry on Sunday so Fazers are GO!
Shall we stick with the plan from last time?
Meet 11.00am
TESCORadwinter Road Saffron Walden Essex CB10 2JP
Unless anyone has any much better ideas.
Who's up for meeting at Nell's and then ride there together? Dazza, Midden, Grandma?
We could pop into Lakeside and pick others up if that works...
Can't wait. See you all then. I did give my number out last time but if you need it again, PM me.
-
Still planning to meet at Nell's IF rear disc arrives tomorrow and can be fitted, as failed MOT due to warped disc!! Been rushing around like a demented flea trying to source a disc, but has been ordered from Yamaha Holland as don't appear to be any for my bike within grabbing distance.
Failing that will borrow R1 back again (well it is a Yamaha) and put up with achy neck and arms! lol :\ Have a route of sorts, doesn't include Burnham Bends, but does include pick up at Lakeside and B184 :b
-
I'm in. Will meet you all at Saffron Walden
-
I'll meet you Saffron Waldon.
-
I'm in, gonna ride up through the Essex countryside and meet up in S/W

Just found out I'm working Sat night, bit gutted bit going to try and make it anyway, can catch up on sleep later.
-
Still no disc for Fazer, not looking good to borrow R1 back as looks as if Alex is going out with a friend for a bimble as he has been in the car all week due to courses etc.
Hope disc arrives Monday been a bit of a stressful week trying to locate one and arrange for it to be fitted for MOT which was due on 14th, so legally I can't ride the bike now.
May take a ride up to Lakeside in car with dogs to see you off then console myself with a novelty dog show in Sussex. :'( Fed up is an understatement.
-
Looking forward to ithttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dR9WznEaPqY Classic Car Show Crystal Palace, last time I went quite a few bikes too. :)

Count me out, got car booked in for MOT tomorrow plus got work. :(

There's a few classic go karts this year in the display area including one of Senna's old karts that I'm looking forward to seeing. He used to use the same engines as I ran, DAP T70 rotary valve with piston porting. My media passes turned up last week so now I'm counting the sleeps. As you say there are a quite few classic bikes being run in the display area as well. last year there were also a few GP bikes.
Apart from the Formula E race being staged in Battersea Park in June this year this is the only other competitive motorsport in London. If you've not been before see about going. Plenty for the kids to see and do as well.
-
Anymore for anymore - roll up roll up for The Only Way Is Essex (via an all day brekkie and an ice cream).
Meeting 0900/0915 at the entrance to Thurrock Services for a 0930 mini depart to Saffron Walden, meeting in the carpark of Tescos, Saffron at 11.00 am for the Grand Depart
Any more takers......?
-
Google tells me there's a Tesco Superstore and a Tesco Extra in SW. I'm presuming it's the big one :-)
-
Head for the superstore. Radwinter Road CB10 2JP. Unless otherwise advised.
-
Morning foccers......got to work this morning so not sure if ill make it, leaving work in cricklade ay 8.45 ish, should be home , high wycombe by10.15ish, then its a good hour to SW......what iam thinking of doing is riding the route the other way round and meeting you lot half way round.that is of course if you riding the route as it is in "britains best biking roads"....hope to see you all later, later...lf not have a good day, weather looks great this morning :thumbup
-
Just walked through the door after a long night shift.
If I'm honest, I think it would be foolish to put myself and others at risk through lack of sleep.
Have a good one Foccer's, don't forget the pics and ride safe.
-
:thumbup right decision Dazza, There will be other times :) See you soon
-
Only just got in :\...best laid plans and all that......not worth me getting thd bike out now, will catch up with you lot another time, parhaps the margate meltdown next weekend :thumbup........have a great day foccers and dont forget the piccies...

Good day had by all. Only a few scary moments. One when I got distracted by route sign, ended up on a pile of gravel and had to bail out of the corner. I managed to get round it in the end but ended up on the wrong side of the road. Happens to the best of us.
Second. I had to bail out early from the ride as my key fob started playing up and wouldn't disarm the alarm. Ho hum.
Whoever wrote the route from MCN... Your fired! What a load of bollox. "Straight on at cross roads and follow lane" It's a fuckin T juction. What lane? That's not the only error in the right up.
Anyway some sics from today.

Back home, safe and sound. 260 miles today.
Thank you so much to Cosmic for leading today, I'll bin the Britain's best ride books, I don't think anyone has actually ridden or driven them, the directions were poor!
Only 4 of us made it in the end, but we had a great time and actually rode for longer than we ate!
Pics to follow.
I had a nice Fazer sandwich on the way home, McLaren F1, ME, Lambo, Ferrari, Ferrari. We had a little play down the M2. I say we... they had a play I tried to keep up and join in :)
Pics to follow.
-
Sounds like a good effort........whres the pics...???
-
Well done everyone! Pleased it was good weather today as well. Will try to get along to the next one
-
Wasn't all bad, some good roads and good company, did around 200 miles in total and out for over 7 hours.
Looking forward to the next one
Forgot to thank HH for his persistence in getting the ride arranged, def deserved his cream tea at Finchingfield
-
Yep great day out, and good company, really enjoyed it. Two thous and two 600s, a good combination. Kosmic you missed some good cakes at Finchingfield. Had one scary moment myself when I overtook a car on a back road into Castle Hedingham and a lunatic on a KTM overtook me at the same time. Well it is summer .....
-
Shame about the cakes. I'd have loved to have stayed but didn't want to risk turning the bike off and not being able to turn it on again, as happened when I got home. Dohhh. The key fob seems fuct. Looks like the momentary micro switch is not returning to the out position. Had go and get the other key fob to disarm the alarm and start the bike. I nearly had to push the bike into the garage
:eek
I definitely made the right call to bail out. Still, I had a nice cold beer when I got in and thought about all the loose chippings in the road that nearly cost me two offs in one day.
-
Sorry, I forgot about the pics, only a couple but here they are:
