My first Fazer and the winters work is almost complete..............just Mikes "Full Monty" to be fitted in a few weeks and some Hydro-dipped bits I'm still waiting for (side panels, carb covers & fairing inners) to be screwed back on. I do my own metal polishing (well most of it) and there's some long hours been spent on mirror polishing almost anything alloy :eek
Had a good shake down run on Saturday and I'm chuffed to bits with how she goes and handles, As well as a full bike strip down and full service on anything from the motor to the rear linkages I also stripped and serviced the forks and re-fitted with new stronger K-Tech springs (I'm a pie lover) so at least the forks don't collapse under braking any more. The bike already had a nice Hyperpro shock fitted when I bought it and that works just fine. I also removed that useless air recirculation system and fitted the carburettor 4-Way crossover equalization manifold idea, (http://www.cartestsoftware.com/fz1/carburetorequalizationmanifold.html (http://www.cartestsoftware.com/fz1/carburetorequalizationmanifold.html))
I'm not sure if this crossover idea has had a big (or small) impact but the bike runs very smooth and pulls hard at lower revs so once Mikes worked his magic with the "full monty" install I reckon I'll have a smile as wide as the humber :)
Overall I'm chuffed to bits with it and as they say "things can only get better"

Clearly a labour of love - nice. :)
Hasta pronto!

Wow lots of work gone into that beauty.

Mmmm Polished centre stand!
Very nice looking bike-as you say a lot of time spent making it better.

Thanks for the nice comments :D

Nice and shiny but the radiator looks twisted?

Very nice :) .

A bit too shiny for my taste, but obviously a well looked after Fazer!
Just one thing, my understanding is that if you have a pillion seat you must have pillion footrests for the MOT. I'm sure others will confirm or correct.

Its a bit of a funny one I vaguely remember talking about that with a mate who does mot's if it has a grab rail it would pass without pegs! That was a few years ago so may have changed since then. Mind you its easy enough to stick them back on for the mot.

I looked into the rear pegs thing once and if I remember correctly if your seat is one piece then you don't require them but if you had a separate rider seat and separate pillion seat you would do.
-
TBH I cant remember if the rear footrests were on when I had it MOT'd. I also polished them and they were a real PITA to do, but I saw the exhaust hanger on fleabay and it was soooo cheap I couldn't say no.
The comment about the twisted radiator had me worried as it does "look" twisted in the pics but after double checking, no its a straight as a die so maybe just an optical illusion?
I know its not to everyone's taste but I love shiny and that's what I love about bikes and their owners............. we're all different aren't we? It'd be bloody boring if everyone's bike looked the same :lol

I know about optics and I know about illusion. I am master of both... Burp!
Rad still doesn't look right to me. 8)
